We’re really excited to announce the launch of a pair of new features made especially for programs that run multiple sessions of the same class. They’re two of the most-requested features from users of CourseStorm: the ability to duplicate a class and to have multiple sessions for the same class. Both of these features are available starting today.

Duplicate a Class in a Few Clicks

Our goal is to make class registration and management as simple as possible. Whether you’re creating a catalog from scratch or have a class that became more popular than you expected, copying a class can be a really useful and time-saving feature. Good news: it’s now available for all classes!

Duplicating a class is exactly the same process as adding a brand-new class – but CourseStorm will automatically pre-fill the details using the class you’re copying, making it simple to adjust the instructor, the location, or the time in only a few clicks.

Sessions: Same Class, Multiple Times

But what if you run multiple sessions of the same classes? If so, you might still find yourself duplicating classes far more than you’d like to. Not only that, but making lots of duplicates can clutter up the browsing experience for your students as well, making it more difficult to find the classes they’d like to register for. Not to worry, though — we’re launching a new plug-in designed specifically for you! It’s called Class Sessions.

With the class sessions plug-in, each class in the catalog can have more than one session. Each session meets at a different time and has its own registration, roster, and waiting list, but it shares the same class information and doesn’t clutter up your online catalog. Sessions make class management a lot easier for lots of programs, from childbirth education to corporate training to yoga classes.

Our new plug-in cuts out having to enter in the same course information for each session. Instead, you can enter your course name, description, image, available seats, and categories just once — and then add as many sessions as you want to the class. We’ve seen some medical certification and joint replacement classes with dozens of sessions of the same class — imagine how much time you can save!

If you think the sessions plugin is a good match for your catalog, let our support team know. We think it will be a big time saver for a huge variety of programs!

Both class duplication and sessions were suggestions in our Ballot Box, the system we use to track ideas from people who use CourseStorm every day. We always love hearing feedback from programs about how to make managing classes and registrations even simpler. If you’d like to cast your vote for a new feature, send your idea to the Ballot Box today.
